Even though Biba auto calls attendees when a meeting starts, sometimes it’s nice to have the option to join your meeting early, especially if you are an organizer or presenter. We have added that ability from the Join a Meeting option where we show you any meeting that is currently happening or is scheduled to start in the next 30 minutes. This is also where you can go join a meeting that you have a PIN from within the Biba app. Speaking of Join by PIN, we’ve also made a small but very helpful change for attendees who are joining from outside the Biba app. We now ask users to enter their name when they join a meeting so the Roster is even more complete for users who are logged in and using the Biba app.
It’s now even easier to schedule your meeting from the Biba app. We support Windows Outlook and Google Calendar or you can copy and paste the meeting instructions directly into any calendar invite. We’ve added an International Dial-in picker so that as an Organizer with Premium Dial-ins you can easily add local dial-in numbers to over 60 countries to your invite for your customers or prospects who are using the Biba app. We’ve also made a few other small changes to make the meeting instructions easier to read and understand for your attendees.
In addition to adding the International Dial-in picker to the Meeting Scheduler Assistant, we’ve also added the ability for our international customers and those who frequently travel to update the default Switch to Dial-in Number. Users can now select the country number that they wish to use as their default dial-in number by going to the Meetings tab from the Settings or Preferences menu and selecting a country from the Preferred Dial-in drop down. This is the dial-in number that will be used if a users chooses Dial-in from the Join screen or uses Switch to Dial-in during a call. Finally we added two more International Dial-in numbers this month – Mexico City and South Korea.
As we have been increasing the number of callers and attendees that we can support in a Biba online meeting, we have gotten requests to add some features around how we handle larger calls. In the 2.12 release we added two sets of controls that are available to call organizers (and their delegates). Under the More menu, call organizers will see two new options. The first is Mute All Others – this one is pretty self explanatory – all users will be muted by the meeting organizer. This is especially helpful for large calls where most attendees will be listening to the call but don’t need to speak during the meeting. The second new option is Enable Event Mode. This selection will mute all meeting attendees by default when they join the call, disable the remote mute feature for attendees and disable the recording option for attendees. The organizer will still have access to these features.
And now to end with – yep, cheesy pun intended – we’ve made a change to End Meeting. Previously we allowed anyone to end a meeting by going to the More menu and choosing End Meeting. When we added our Organizer features this release, we also made a change to the End Meeting option. Now only meeting organizers will be able to end a meeting. An organizer will be given the choice to “Leave Meeting” or “End Meeting for All”. Attendees will always see only the Leave option.
Phew – that was a lot for one month – but we know you will be as excited as we are to see all the new changes. If you haven’t already, be sure to update to the 2.12 release of Biba on all of your mobile devices and computers.
