Okay, let’s get to what’s new in this release!
The new Biba look has made its way onto the Biba product. If you’ve restarted your computer or updated your mobile app, you may have noticed that Gabee the bee has made her big screen debut onto your desktop dock and onto your mobile app!
The Contacts list has now been enhanced to load faster and support more scalability. This update will be especially helpful for larger organizations with more contacts. When you select Message or Call, a new “My Contacts” list will be generated by consolidating:
- People you’ve invited
- People that have invited you
- People that you’ve sent a 1:1 message to
Most offices still have conference rooms. Some of these rooms have in-room video hardware. That’s that whole reason that we released our H.323 integration so our customers could get more usage out of their video hardware by connecting them to Biba meetings.
Others bootstrap a bit more by creating conference room setups with a dedicated laptop that stays in the room. For these use cases, we’re now releasing an option under Biba -> Preferences -> Meetings tab that says “This is a conference room computer”. If you’re using the machine as the standard in a conference room, click the checkbox and from then-on out, a few things will be different:
- Password protection to sign out, quit, or edit settings
- Meeting windows will always go to full screen when joining a call
- You have the option to pop out video by default
When someone chooses to join a meeting from the Biba app and experiences firewall issues, they will now receive a message that they are unable to connect to the specific service being blocked (audio, video, or screen.)This update is to help both registered and un-registered users understand why they may be experiencing issues and offer remedial troubleshooting or workarounds as needed.
The Biba team rolls out a new release every 28 days. If you’re not thinking about it, you might go a few months before realizing that there’s a new release available. You won’t have to be in the dark about the latest release any longer. Go to the Biba menu and select ”Check for Updates...” and you can get your hands on the latest version of Biba.
